“Our guide Mario was punctual and informative. We made good time to Zugspitze and had more than enough time to explore the mountain and have lunch. The lake at the bottom of the mountain is beautiful. It’s a 90 minute hike to walk around and we might have budgeted our time a bit differently had we known. The complex at the summit is impressive, as is the cable car. It’s on the border and we ate in the restaurant on the Austrian side, which was much less crowded. All in all a pleasant way to spend a sunny summer day. Beautiful 360 degree views of the Alps.”
